What to Expect from Feit Consulting in 2018

2018 will be an exciting year! Feit Consulting is expanding our solutions and services around Library Modernization. Our webinar series will continue. This coming year, we will launch a Librarian Mentoring program. Our goal is to take the vision of the Modern Library and work with our clients in implementing it, to continue towards making the Library a place of excellence.

Feit Consulting is not siloed to working with only large firms. We work with smaller clients, government entities, law libraries, and corporations on an array of legal information needs and projects ranging from contract management and negotiations to steps for moving towards a Modern Library.

We continue our work on making the good fight with the vendors on pricing and terms. Focusing on metrics, tools and technology to empower firms and organizations to understand their ROI on the products and services the Library offers.

On-Demand Consulting

Feit Consulting introduced a new program this past year, FEIT360. In this program, firms/organizations choose a base number of hours per month for consulting use – minimally 1 hour per month. This hour may be used for legal information management questions, benchmarking contracts and a variety of projects.

Unused hours are rolled over to future months. Firms/organizations may request additional consulting hours for larger projects as they arise. Approximate number of hours needed to complete a project are provided ahead of time to ensure no big surprise on your bill. Fees have a monthly cap to limit the cost exposure to the firm/organization, allowing for ease in budgeting and expense outlay.

FEIT360 is a subscription plan, cancellable at anytime. Have your legal information questions answered when needed. Perhaps a question about an invoice or determining whether to make your contract co-terminus, FEIT360 offers flexibility while meeting your legal information needs.

Feit Presenting at ARK on the Modern Library February 22nd

Upcoming in February, Feit Consulting will present on Beyond Virtualization: Transforming the Law Library at the Ark Group’s 12^th annual Law Firm Library, Research & Information Services conference.

What is the Modern Law Library? The role of library services within firms and organizations has shifted. Rather than being a target of downsizing or outsourcing, librarians need to move beyond traditional research roles reinventing themselves to support the business of law. Administration needs to be open to the new roles the modern law library can play. Without this support, library modernization cannot be fully realized.

Feit Consulting has legal-information market intelligence dating back to 2001. Each year, Feit Consulting conducts law firm interviews, audits, and surveys. In the last twelve months, we have connected with more than 200 firms, gathering a large array of intelligence to fine-tune our market view. Feit Consulting utilizes an observed median derived from these learnings when developing our benchmarks. The median is our opinion of the mid-mark data point by which half of the market is above and half is below.

Data is continually monitored and benchmarks are recalibrated by Feit Consulting’s Legal Information Research Team. Benchmarks will be tweaked when pertinent market changes take place, influencing the relative strength of each vendor. Pertinent market changes would include a significant new competitor, product features, content, changing preferences, and/or compelling pricing.
